Most items are made from readily available materials—usually leather, wood, or steel—but some weapons and armor are made from more exotic materials, giving them unique properties and other advantages. Weapons made from precious materials are better able to harm certain creatures, and armor of these materials provides enhanced protection.
The following special materials can be found in the Riadus Campaign Setting.
Adamantine

Precious
Mined from rocks that fell from the heavens, adamantine is one of the hardest metals known. It has a shiny, black appearance, and it is prized for its amazing resiliency and ability to hold an incredibly sharp edge. Adamantine glows in the presence of creatures with the Holy or Unholy trait.

Bogwood
Material 8+
Uncommon
Precious
Bogwood is a very lightweight wood found primarily in alder-swamps bordering on the Wild in central Reylan; the alder being a deep, ashen gray, with its natural brown undertones shimmering through like glowing embers. A bogwood item’s Bulk is reduced by 1 (or to light Bulk if its normal Bulk is 1, with no effect on an item that normally has light Bulk). The Price of an item made of bogwood is based on the item’s normal Bulk, not its reduced Bulk for being made of bogwood , but reduce the Bulk before making any further Bulk adjustments for the size of the item.

Cold Iron
Material 2+
Precious
Weapons made from cold iron are deadly to demons and fey alike. Cold iron is the purest form of iron and untouched by the flames of a forge. Crafting cold iron requires patience and skill, as it is brittle and difficult to shape without the aid of fire. Many blacksmiths rely on ancient rituals involving bathing the metal in moonlight, blessing it with sacred herbs or reciting esoteric prayers in order to enhance their skill in working such a difficult metal.

Moonsilver
Material 8+
Uncommon
Precious
A celestial metal with a silvery sheen and feather-light weight, moonsilver is coveted for its strength, durability and beauty. According to legend, when the goddess Feilona created the Wild, she imbued parts of it with the primal magic native to her home on Luna. As the Wild retreated from the surface of Riadus, groves sacred to Feilona were discovered where, under the light of a full moon, tiny flakes of moonsilver would rise from the ground like a shimmering dust, gently floating up toward Luna. Though nearly impossible to capture, ancient druids learned the secrets of harvesting moonsilver flakes which they forged into weapons and armor of exceptional quality and beauty.
Moonsilver weapons and armor are treated as if they were silver for the purpose of damaging creatures with weakness to silver. A metal item made of moonsilver is lighter than one made of iron or steel: the item’s Bulk is reduced by 1 (reduced to light Bulk if its normal Bulk is 1, with no effect on an item that normally has light Bulk). The Price of an item made of this material is based on the item’s normal Bulk, not its reduced Bulk for being made of moonsilver, but reduce the Bulk before making any further Bulk adjustments for the size of the item.

Silver
Material 2+
Precious
Silver weapons are a bane to creatures ranging from devils to werewolves. Silver items are less durable than steel items. Low-grade silver items are usually silver-plated using an alchemical process that prevents the valuable metal from flaking off. Standard-grade and high-grade silver items are a unique alloy of silver and other metals making it more durable.
